"Psychotherapy is a general term for treating mental health problems by talking with a psychiatrist, psychologist or other mental health provider. During psychotherapy, you learn about your condition and your moods, feelings, thoughts and behaviors. Psychotherapy helps you learn how to take control of your life and respond to challenging situations with healthy coping skills. "

Sometimes being able to create a sense of community within a group setting might be what one needs to heal. As a group facilitator, I put emphasis on psycho-education, emotional validation and safety as well as skill building among the group so you can continue to grow beyond the sessions. We can consult with agencies to craft programs that are culturally responsive and address various issues.
